MBV Systems receives order from Rio Tinto

We are very proud to announce that Rio Tinto, one of the largest mining companies in the world, has selected to trial MBV Systems 3DPM system in a mine site at Western Australia. The purpose of the trial is to evaluate potential use of 3DPM to increase knowledge and understanding of the material flow and hence improve the production efficiency and the product quality in the mine.

MBV Systems 3DPM vision system provides on-line particle size distribution (PSD) measurements of rock and bulk material through 3D measurements on conveyor belts. In addition, prototype material origin algorithms will be tested. Installation and commissioning will commence as soon as possible following hardware delivery by the end of April this year.

MBV Systems is expanding

MBV Systems has from 11 May hired Tobias Andersson as technical project leader/specialist. Tobias is Ph.D. in industrial electronics and specialist in vision systems. He comes most recently from AFRY where he has worked as a consultant with image analysis and measurement technique.

Boliden

We are very proud that Boliden has decided to install another 3DPM system in their mine in Garpenberg. Our first system we delivered four years ago when Boliden was searching for a system which could help them to improve their process knowledge and control strategies for crushers and grinding mills at Aitik.

Now three years later the system is operational at Boliden Garpenberg, and an additional system is commissioned at Boliden Aitik. With all these systems Boliden can take control of particle size, volume flow and now also safely detect unexpected boulders or rock-bolts after their crushers.

MBV Systems launches new generation of 3DPM

To further meet our customers' needs, we can proudly present our new version of our 3D particle size measurement system, 3DPM. The new generation 3DPM from MBV Systems makes it possible to measure particles more accurately than ever before. It gives the customer more control over result output, communication protocols and flexible warnings for abnormal properties of the material flow.

“We are really happy to now be able to present valuable data, which previously has been hard to reach, to our customers. First out is Rio Tinto in Australia but for example Eramet in Norway and JFE Steel in Japan also plan to use this new generation of 3DPM very soon. With this upgrade, we can increase our customer base and meet our customers' requirements in a much better way than before”, says Lars Lindqvist CEO at MBV Systems.

With the latest in laser triangulation hardware, the measurement module of the new generation 3DPM makes it possible to measure particles at higher belt speed, using lower strength lasers, and robustly detect smaller particles than ever before. Therefore, the customer base can now be expanded to industries processing particles previously too small to be measured robustly. 3DPM is more adjustable than before, where the customer can have more control over result output, communication protocols and flexible warnings for abnormal properties of the material flow.
